I asked #DelphineBoel (of Saxe-Coburg) why gaining the title of Princess of Belgium was so important. After receiving the DNA results, she wanted to communicate together with King Albert. “So he came out as a humble man. And we came out as winners.” But it didn’t happen. pic.twitter.com/p3RoJjx4MC

#DelphineBoel (now of Saxe-Coburg) describes her former legal father Jacques Boël as a “wealthy man”. Personal note: he is believed to be 10x richer than King Albert.

💬 “If I had done it for the money, it would have been rather silly from me to go that way.” pic.twitter.com/h7y4zS3fml
#DelphineBoel at royal events with King Philippe?

💬 “If they [the Royal Palace] invite me with great kindness and big welcome, I would be very happy. That would have to be because they want it, not because they are forced.” But she doesn’t expect to invited, she stated. pic.twitter.com/cbnPQxycrt
#DephineBoel (now of Saxe-Coburg) about wearing the title Princess of Belgium:

💬 “I’m still going to be Delphine. I’m not gonna be hanging out in the streets, saying: Please call me Princess. However ...” pic.twitter.com/4h5kH2Idtr
#DelphineBoel about the hardest part of her 7-y court case vs. Albert:

💬 “You kind of like on a battle field all the time, always like in a little bit of war. For me to go to the court, especially for that, to be recognized by my own blood, my own father, felt so unnatural.” pic.twitter.com/GcbjawIbRh
#DelphineBoel - her message for other illegitimate children:
— [Wim Dehandschutter] (@WDehandschutter) October 5, 2020
💬 “Never feel that [you] are fault or somebody of shame. If [you] want to know [your] identity, it’s completely normal. People in my situation: go for it.” pic.twitter.com/K7hRFBAM3B
#DelphineBoel (now Delphine of Saxe-Coburg) gets emotional. The question: how important was your partner, Irish-American Jim O’Hare, in this battle against King Albert? Jim brings a handkerchief. pic.twitter.com/sziJ6Dxwci

#DelphineBoel:

💬 “I’m not expecting anything [from the Belgian royal family]. I’m just going to carry on with my work [as artist]. However, you know, if suddenly they show signs of life, I would never put my back to them. That’s for sure.” pic.twitter.com/XwWJ3043aO
In her art pieces, #DelphineBoel used royal crowns, Belgian flags and other symbols to refer to her biological father, former Belgian King Albert. What will inspire her in the future?

💬 “I’m sure I will always have inspiration, because this county 🇧🇪 is so interesting.” pic.twitter.com/NF5YUck36p
